Running Affiliate Programs Tips & Tricks

An affiliate program is designed to benefit two parties – the seller and the promoter. The seller gains by having the promoter advertise, pre-sell or simply market a product or service in exchange for a percentage of the sale. This is similar to the real-world model of commission sales; whereby a salesman is paid a percentage of each sale he makes.

Affiliate marketing on the internet has and will continue to make people very wealthy. Due to the vast amount of products to promote to a virtually unlimited audience, companies are always looking at ways to further expand their market share without going to great effort and expense. The best way for them to achieve that goal is to allow regular people like you and me promote their company, service or a particular product that they sell.

If you visit the Commission Junction website, you will find hundreds upon hundreds of online and real world retailers who want website owners to advertise for them, in return for a cut of every sale made. A webmaster simply needs to display a banner or text link, imbedded with affiliate code, and if a visitor clicks that link and purchases a product, the webmaster will receive his commission.
Commission Junction is a mega hub of affiliate programs. They provide the interface and tracking that allow webmasters to promote several affiliate programs at once, without the hassle of maintaining sales records themselves. Commission Junctions track all clicks and sales, and simply send the webmaster a check every month for the amount of commission he has earned.

Although simply displaying a few banners might seem rather easy, this method will very rarely make you any sales. To become a great affiliate, the idea is to ‘pre-sell’ to the customer. Pre-selling generates the customer’s interest and installs a ‘ready to purchase’ frame of mind through the method of convincing and tapping into their emotional needs.

Pre-selling can take the form of offering reviews of certain products, and subtly adding some affiliate links to the review. Pre-selling can also consist of posting an authoritative article on a particular subject relating to a product. The reader will then associate your expertise with this product, and will be in the frame of mind to make a purchase after reading your article which speaks extremely highly of this particular product. And because you are an expert in this field, you must be right when you say they really need this product, right?

Tip to increase your affiliate earnings
If you are an affiliate, there are an unlimited amount of things you can do to substantially increase your income. One of my favorites is good old fashioned article marketing. Writing an informative article can potentially bring in sales for you well into the future. Articles never die on the internet; your article will still be around in five or ten years time, hopefully earning you money!

You can write an article on the niche in which your affiliate program relates to. Once you submit this article to free article directory sites with your affiliate website link strategically placed in the resource box, other people will use this article on their websites. Your link will always remain intact, therefore you should start seeing visitors trickle (or preferably flood) in from various websites. A few sales here and there will make your hour or so of article writing well worth the effort.

Affiliate programs are a potential goldmine to the person who masters the art of promoting them. Make sure you start taking action today, and before too long you could be the next six figure affiliate marketer.

What computer art programs can I use for Cafepress?

I am interested in starting my own store on Cafepress.com. The only problem is that I don’t have a good art program on my computer to make designs. Could someone tell me a good AFFORDABLE program I could use? I checked for photoshop but the cheapest I could get it was $175. And btw I have a PC. Thanks!!!

Check out inkscape and gimp. Both are open source/freeware programs that are very good and many people use it.

For paid software check on Corel Draw or PaintShopPro.

Can anyone offer advice on Graduate Art Programs?

I want to gather information on Graduate programs, specifically in the area of Ceramic Sculpture. Does anyone have advice on schools or know any websites or magazines that rate different programs? Also, advice regarding portfolio’s or any information on the process would be a huge help. Thanks!

check out tyler school of art, its part of temple university in philadelphia. also afred in ny.

as for websites: fastweb.com, gradschools.com, gradschoolsearch.com, anything like that.

one thing i did, was search for colleges on wikipedia. I wanted to stay in my home state of Pa so i searched for colleges in pa and then went to all of their websites. overall, its just a lot of searching and of course going to the campuses to see if you would like the program. a good idea is to talk to former or current students.

as for portfolios, have your best work in it. but make sure to show the full range of what you can do. put in some drawings from life, some sculpture, but mostely ceramics if thats what you do. also, some personal statements help. write a goals statement, a personal artist statment of what you think your work is about and where you want it to go, and of course, add some things that teachers or employers have written about you.

basically, you need to sell yourself. and if your work isn’t as strong as you’d like it to be, you need to show the schools that you can improve! good luck.

What universities have the best art history programs?

I want to major in Art History, and my main interest is in classical European painting and sculpture. What universities have a strong program that will suit my interest? I’d prefer to be on the east coast or in Texas. Chicago sounds nice, too. =)
But basically I’d be interested in learning about schools anywhere.

Oh, and I thought I’d mention that my own artistic abilities are pretty much nonexistant at this point. A program focused solely on art history or one where there’s a lot of help for beginning artists would be good.

For an emerging program, check out Art History at UIC. http://www.uic.edu/depts/arch/ah/

It’s not as prestigious as, say, U of C, but it’s been getting more attention in academic circles recently.

Can you recommend some schools/colleges with Great Studio Art programs here in the United States?

Have you considered the Art Institutes? They have them all over the country.

wat are some good art programs that will help you become a better artist?

i want to become a better artist wat are some good schools or programs? i live around dallas texas area if that helps.
really no answers?

Art Institutes the school that is and also any on ground campus that offers online art programs throughout the us. If you are looking to go to a campus on ground I would go to Florida,Cali,dc,Pittsburgh,MD they have some of the best schools in the USA. Otherwise just do tutorials online and you will get some good inspiration and perfect outcomes with whatever area you are interested in that’s what I do. I am going to the art institute of Pittsburgh right now and there great. Or go to some famous artist’s museums that you may be interested in.
