“Imagination is …
“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” – Albert Einstein
dude you are an …
dude you are an idiot..
Stupid… or maybe you are just purposely ignoring the truth.
Well it was a bit …
Well it was a bit ambiguous, but I think he meant that music and art should be SERIOUSLY EXPANDED not cut back becuase they are good programs for ALL kids. Everyone benefits. It’s the idea that “a rising tide lifts all boats.” Even though your kids may not be interested in art or music, they will develop the brain and help kids become more aware of their environment. So need more art in schools.
Federal government …
Federal government stays out of the issue. Doesn’t have the constitutional authority to say a word. How else do you avoid Federal regulation of State schools?
You did not address …
You did not address the question. What is his position on music and arts education in our schools? Specifically!
By working with the …
By working with the states and sharing best practices and models while the president uses the bully pulpit to bring the issue before the public.
Think about THAT!
No department of …
No department of education.
He just said two …
He just said two completely different things in the same sentence. What exactly is this “weapon of mass instruction”??? Doesn’t sound to me like the role of the federal government. Sounds like code for throwing more money into the department of education. How else do you ensure music and art is taught in every school? Think about that.
Did you even listen …
Did you even listen? State issue… Fed has a role in sharing best practices. At least try to comprehend what is being said before you make a comment.
And so… the role …
And so… the role of the federal government is to unleash weapons of mass instruction? Or to play a limited role? Which is it, Mr. Huckabee?
Talk about politics of parsing.
Tell me where in …
Tell me where in the Constitution it says that. The only thing the federal government should do wih education is provide limited block grants to states that apply for federal aid. Huckabee wants to make mandatory programs and that is unconstitutional.
And his position on …
And his position on music and the arts in our schools is….
I agree! Cong. …
I agree! Cong. Tancredo’s comment was the quote of the week from American’s for the Arts and shows just how out of touch he he is with what is actually being promoted… let alone the fact that he fails to understand the benefits that an education in music and the arts provide to ALL students!
Mike does… Go Mike Go!
Yes, he is a …
Yes, he is a wonderful communicator… speaks from the heart, speaks wisely and speaks the truth.
Huckabee=master …
Huckabee=master communicator
Somebody just …
Somebody just commented without actually listening to what he said.
I love how Mike later owned Tancredo when he tried to say the same thing.
These negative …
These negative Huckabee attacks?….Hmmm,
THEY CAN “RON” BUT THEY CANNOT HIDE!
Brak2002… did you …
Brak2002… did you not even watch the video? He states it is a state issue but the Federal Gov’t DOES play a role in sharing and supporting “best practices.” Maybe you should view it again.
Maybe Huckabee …
Maybe Huckabee should be governor some more so he can improve Arkansas’ schools. The federal government isn’t suppose to create all of these programs the Huckster is talkin’ about. Let’s leave the decision making up to the states.
I am a music …
I am a music student and I must say, the man is RIGHT ON TARGET. Go Huckabee
